FUN’s sustainable development working group compiled sustainable development guidelines for FUN and university libraries, which have been published on FUN’s website. These guidelines are implemented in consideration of Unifi’s sustainable development program and the UN’s Sustainable Development Agenda.
In addition to the guidelines, the working group compiled recommendations for university libraries regarding sustainable development, the aim of which is to bring sustainable development activities into an even better part of university libraries’ everyday life.
Working group chairman Tommi Harju commented on the completion of FUN’s sustainable development work: “Together with my colleague Anne Lehto, who was partially responsible for the chairman duties, we thought it was important that FUN supports the Unifi sustainable development program with its own work and from its own starting points and binds them to the UN’s sustainable Development Agenda. The recommendations prepared now provide the guidelines for university libraries to implement sustainable development in their everyday activities, which is becoming an increasingly important area in the university field.”
